About UrbanManageCore

Founded by experienced mountaineers with a shared passion for the peaks, we bring together expertise, safety standards, and genuine love for mountain exploration.

Our Journey

UrbanManageCore was established in 2015 by three certified mountain guides who met during an expedition in the Scottish Highlands. What started as weekend trips with friends evolved into a registered company dedicated to making mountain experiences accessible to everyone, from beginners taking their first steps on a trail to experienced hikers seeking challenging routes.

Over the past eight years, we have guided more than 2,400 individuals across various mountain ranges in the UK and Europe. Our team now consists of 12 qualified guides, each holding internationally recognized certifications including Mountain Leader (ML), International Mountain Leader (IML), and Winter Mountain Leader (WML) qualifications. Every guide has completed a minimum of 150 supervised expeditions before leading groups independently.

We operate throughout the year, adapting our routes to seasonal conditions. From the Lake District's gentle slopes to Snowdonia's rugged terrain, we design trips that match participants' fitness levels and experience. Our approach focuses on education – teaching navigation skills, weather assessment, and mountain safety protocols during every outing.

Our Mission

We provide safe, educational mountain experiences led by certified guides. Each trip is planned with detailed risk assessments, appropriate equipment checks, and clear communication about route difficulty. We maintain a 1:8 guide-to-participant ratio for standard hikes and 1:4 for technical routes, ensuring personalized attention and safety oversight.

Our Vision

We aim to build a community of confident, knowledgeable mountain enthusiasts who understand and respect the environment. Through structured progression programs, participants can develop from supervised day hikes to multi-day expeditions, gaining practical skills and mountain awareness at each stage.

Core Values

Safety First

All guides carry emergency communication devices, first aid kits certified to Wilderness First Aid standards, and conduct weather checks every four hours. We cancel trips when conditions exceed safe parameters.

Skill Development

Every expedition includes practical instruction in map reading, compass use, and terrain assessment. Participants receive written materials covering the techniques demonstrated during the trip.

Environmental Care

We follow Leave No Trace principles, use designated paths to prevent erosion, and educate participants about local ecosystems and conservation efforts in the areas we visit.

Inclusive Access

We offer routes graded from easy to strenuous, with clear descriptions of distance, elevation gain, and technical requirements. Equipment rental is available for those new to hiking.

Our Mountain Expeditions

We organize guided treks across diverse terrains, from gentle hill walks to challenging alpine routes. Each expedition is carefully planned with safety and enjoyment in mind.
